A series of works about old churches. The photos were taken in different districts of Kaluga Oblast between 2011 and 2022. Monumental remains of churches and temples stand in abandoned villages and hamlets. Some orphaned back in the early 20th century, others have experienced the abuse of economic activity of Soviet collective farms, the third are trying to somehow fit into modern life, but they do not do well. So these majestic cathedrals or, on the contrary, small and cozy churches stand in God-forsaken villages or pogosts and look at us with their black eyes of empty windows.
